CHINOOK CUT DOWN

A film I shot with Mike Brewer in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, 2010. I am filming in the aircraft with Mike, my camera plugged into the crew's communications system so I was able to record all the cockpit chat, and Mike’s dialogue who was on a stage microphone (Chinook very noisy inside). I was pleased that all the sound came out crisp and clear. The scary bit was on the ground as the Chinook was vulnerable to enemy fire, as it happened we got attacked just after takeoff, machine gunned from the ground… we were lucky to get home safe.
