Diagnosing an easyplant pot | What made it a PLANT KILLER!

I've had 8 easyplant products. All potted in their patented self-watering easy plant pots. One of the plants didn't make it. I have suspected for some time that the self watering pot for that particular plant wasn't working properly. With the demise of the plant and the pot no longer being used, I would try to investigate to see what the root cause could have been. My suspicions were correct! I believe this particular pot had an improperly installed cotton wick that only worked to draw water from the reservoir down to a certain level - leaving a pot with water in the reservoir but not accessible to the plant.
