The start of the 80 series Land Cruiser build! I'll be starting off by fixing all the leaks on this 1FZ-FE engine. This 1993 FZJ80 leaks from all the common areas: oil pan arch, valve cover, oil pump cover, distributor o-ring, etc. In this episode, I go over my plan of attack for this landcruiser 80 to get it ready for adventure! Before I start installing aftermarket parts, I need to make it RELIABLE. I need to replace the valve cover gasket but I find something hiding under there which is going to require a LOT of work to replace...a broken timing chain guide. We're talking the entire cylinder head and oil pan have to be removed. Fun times ahead!
