Witness the Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2025 as devotees of Leong Nam Temple invite the Nine Emperor Gods from the sea in a powerful Taoist ceremony at East Coast Park. This ceremony marks the beginning of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival for Leong Nam Temple. Devotees arrived at East Coast Park with a Fire Dragon, two lions, and nine palanquins, which we will call Sedan Chairs - one for each of the Nine Emperor Gods. From daylight to nightfall, the devotees prayed by the beach, waiting reverently for the arrival of the deities. As darkness fell, the Taoist mediums announced the arrival of the Gods. The Sedan Chairs lit up and began to rock, symbolizing the divine presence of the Nine Emperors. The procession made its way back to Leong Nam Temple, where a huge crowd was waiting eagerly. The Fire Dragon, spiked with thousands of burning incense sticks, danced fiercely through the smoke and the crowd, accompanied by drumbeats and chants. Nine lanterns were symbolically lit and raised high to signify the arrival of the Nine Emperors, as devotees invited the Gods to take their place in the temple - marking a powerful start to the Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2025. The rituals continued as each Sedan Chair arrived at the temple. A night of faith, devotion, and deep tradition.
