The Fire Walking Festival 2025 (தீமிதி திருவிழா 2025) is one of Singapore’s most sacred and visually powerful Hindu festivals. Every year, devotees gather at Sri Mariamman Temple (மாரியம்மன் கோவில்) in South Bridge Road to take part in the ancient Theemithi (தீமிதி) ritual — a ceremony that represents faith, purity, and devotion to Goddess Draupadi Amman. The festival begins at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple in Serangoon Road, where the chief priest carries the karagam in a symbolic walk of devotion. The procession makes its way through the streets to Sri Mariamman Temple, Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple, where the firewalking takes place. Inside the temple grounds, a large rectangular pit filled with glowing embers becomes the spiritual stage for the Fire Walking Festival 2025 (தீமிதி திருவிழா). The chief priest is the first to walk across the fire pit, followed by thousands of devotees who brave the scorching coals barefoot. Each step across the fire is a test of faith and endurance, performed in honour of Goddess Draupadi Amman, a central figure in the Mahabharata epic. The atmosphere inside Sri Mariamman Temple (மாரியம்மன் கோவில்) during the Theemithi 2025 (தீமிதி 2025) is intense and deeply moving — filled with chants, prayers, and unwavering devotion.
