Building a campervan kitchen yourself may sound difficult, but with a good sketch and the right dimensions you can get a very nice end result. Our kitchen in the campervan (RV) comes partly in front of the sliding door and will be quite large. In this episode you will find all our dimensions of the camper kitchen. You don't just make a well-built kitchen yourself and that's why I've looked at a lot of kitchens. I have adjusted the dimensions for the kitchen so that they fit nicely in the campervan. We build the kitchen from MDF material. This wood type is heavier than poplar plywood, which we had used in our previous campervan. But MDF gives a fantastic finish and because we have enough weight left we make the kitchen from it. MDF weighs almost twice as much as poplar and costs us about 120 euros exra per 20,000 km in fuel costs. For the frame of the kitchen we use 18 mm thick sheet material. The drawers are made of 12mm thick MDF board material. We make the fronts of the drawers from 15mm thick MDF board material.
