Boat Camping on Lake Erie | Living from the Lake + Catch and Cook

This is the ultimate Great Lakes boat camping adventure! My sister Claira and I set out on Lake Erie for our very first overnight boat camping trip — with one rule: if we don’t catch it, we don’t eat. 🐟🔥 We kicked things off in the evening and managed to land a few perch before dark. As Claira set up our bug tents in the boat (yes, in the boat), we cooked up fresh perch under the stars — while battling an outrageous swarm of biting bugs. We barely finished our catch and cook dinner before retreating into our tents for the night. The next morning started with pancakes on the water and trolling for Lake Erie walleye. The bite was on! We nearly hit our limit before the heat drove us off the lake. Back at home, we cleaned the fish and wrapped up our adventure by cooking fresh walleye and rainbow trout over a backyard bonfire.
