Some were locals trying it out, while others were out exploring. Many praised the smooth, comfortable, and fast ride, as well as the beautiful scenery. Some noticed insufficient signage at the Yingge Old Street exit and hoped for more information to help tourists quickly reach the old street. Let's take a look together. --- Have you ridden the MRT yet? The Sanying MRT Line officially opened on June 30th, and the first two days saw a surge in riders. Not only at Dingpu Station, which connects to the Bannan Line, but also at other stations, people lined up early in the morning. Due to the summer vacation, many parents took their children on trips, and groups of friends also rode the line together, boosting visitor numbers to attractions along the line, such as Yingge Ceramics Old Street and the New Taipei City Art Museum. Many residents praised the smooth, comfortable, and fast ride, making travel more convenient. However, some locals observed that they are frequently asked for directions by tourists because the exit signage at the Ceramics Old Street station often leads visitors to the more distant Exit 2 instead of the closer Exit 1. They hope for improved signage and explanations to help first-time visitors reach their destinations more quickly. On the opening day, a local long-term care organization in Sanxia brought elderly residents to ride the line, much to the excitement of these rarely-going seniors. Residents of the Sanxia-Beida Special District also rode the line to collect commemorative stamps for all 12 stations, but noted that it still takes about 20 minutes to walk from their community to the MRT station. They hope for branch lines or more comprehensive transportation options in the future to make MRT travel more convenient. With the Sanxia-Yingge Line officially joining the New Taipei City MRT network, commuting time has been shortened, and the tourist routes in Sanxia and Yingge have become more complete. From the Ceramics Old Street and the New Taipei City Art Museum to the Sanxia Old Street, attractions along the route are expected to see increased visitor numbers.
