Luckily, mine are only triggered by certain things including camp fire smoke and certain IPA beers. In this video, I share the best home remedies that I have found that help stop migraine headaches are at least provide some relief. I've always found heat works well for providing relief from migraines. From what I read, this is because heat produces better blood flow to the area and relaxing tense muscles which could be contributing to your headache. 1 - Headache medicine. Although medicine does not always work to stop my migraine headaches, I do find it helps. 2 - Hot shower. I recommend taking a long hot shower and letting the water hit your face and/or head. 3 - Hair dryer. Because hair dryers provide a constant heat, they are a quick and useful tool to providing relief. 4 - Heated compression sock. Being quickly microwavable, heated compression socks squeeze your head all the way around. This combined with the heat really helps. 5 - Vicks Vapor Steamer. Many headaches can be caused by sinus issues. This device lets you breath steam into your sinuses providing relief. 6 - Heated eye mask. This one is my personal favorite for where my migraines occur. I find the heat from this mask holds it's temperature for well over 15 minutes and stops my headache in it's tracks.
