[HD] A Busy Morning on the Providence & Worcester Railroad in Valley Falls, RI 4/18/16

A much needed April vacation has finally arrived. To start off the week, I made an early morning trip to Valley Falls to catch some P&W action. I arrived there with my grandfather at 6:50am, 10 minutes before the crew for PR-3 came on duty. Two GP38-2s were the power for the day's PR-3, the norm for Valley Falls. I was then surprised to see PR-2s crew go on duty at the same time as PR-3 which is very strange. Their power was a GP38-2 as well. Funny enough, GP38-2s 2007, 2008, and 2009 were the three Geeps being used. PR-3 proceeded into the Valley Falls yard and pulled out a good sized cut of cars, mainly consisting of cement hoppers. They made a number of switching moves before departing for the receiving yard in Pawtucket. PR-2 had departed with no cars to the receiving yard while PR-3 was busy at work. The day before, a 66N came south from Worcester with an NS SD70M-2 and standard cab Dash-9 as power. However, instead of going all the way to Motiva as they usually do, they tied the train down in the receiving yard. I was disappointed that I missed it the day before. PR-3 proceeded to the port of Providence with their cut of cars. PR-2 was running as an extra this day, their symbol being PR-2X. They took the 2007 and coupled it to the front of the NS power. I went down to Valley Falls this day expecting to just catch some switching but instead I got some switching as usual and the catch of the day, PR-2X with the 66N from the day before.
