На Тернопільщині відбулися урочистості з нагоди Дня Національної поліції

Today, the police officers of the Ternopil region not only ensure law and order in the rear. They fight on the front lines as part of the rifle battalion, the KORD special unit and other units that are part of the Defense Forces, perform combat missions, save people and risk their own lives every day for the security of the country. That is why the 11th anniversary of the creation of the National Police of Ukraine this year has become a day of gratitude, memory and respect for those who serve the Ukrainian people. Ceremonial events were held at the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region. Those present observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of police officers, military personnel and civilians who died in the fight for Ukraine's independence, and also remembered colleagues who are considered missing. The Head of the Ternopil Region Main Police Department, Serhiy Zyubanenko, thanked the personnel for their service and emphasized that over the eleven years of the National Police's existence, law enforcement officers have gone through a difficult path full of challenges that were not foreseen by any regulatory documents. "Together with the military and other security and defense forces, we are the foundation of the state. Today, our colleagues on the front line demonstrate professionalism, courage and dedication. On the front line, where the Ternopil region police officers are standing, the enemy does not pass. But, unfortunately, we pay an extremely high price for this," the head of the regional police noted. He called on law enforcement officers to remember their mentors, support the families of their deceased and missing colleagues, protect themselves and their comrades and always return alive from duty. The head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Taras Pastukh, also congratulated the police officers. He thanked all law enforcement officers who, after the start of the full-scale invasion, took up arms and stood up for the defense of the state, as well as those who serve daily in the rear communities. "Today, the danger exists not only on the front line. The enemy attacks Ukrainian cities with missiles, drones, information operations and attempts to recruit our citizens. Police officers are the first to respond to these challenges, risking their own lives, going to each call and ensuring the safety of people," the head of the Ternopil region emphasized. Ternopil City Mayor Serhiy Nadal noted that since the beginning of the war, the role of the National Police has significantly expanded. In addition to ensuring law and order, police officers fight as part of the Defense Forces, guard strategically important facilities, evacuate civilians, document war crimes and counter sabotage and terrorist threats. He emphasized that thanks to the professional work of law enforcement officers, Ternopil remains one of the safest cities in Ukraine, although most people take this safety for granted. The heads of other law enforcement agencies and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs congratulated the police on their professional holiday. They thanked the law enforcement officers who defend Ukraine with weapons in their hands, as well as those who daily ensure the safety of the region's residents. During the celebrations, the best police officers were awarded state, departmental and local awards for conscientious service, professionalism and devotion to the Ukrainian people.
