"An unknown man with a weapon is trying to enter an educational institution in Ternopil" - this message was received by law enforcement officers. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the police, rescue and other emergency services, the threat was eliminated. This is not a real situation, but a simulated scenario of exercises that took place in one of the schools in Ternopil. The goal is to work out the response mechanism of the police, rescuers, educational institutions regarding early warning and evacuation of participants in the educational process in the event of an attack or risk of an attack on an educational institution. "Today presents us with new challenges, new dangers, to which we must be able to respond adequately, quickly and skillfully. Therefore, today in one of the schools in Ternopil, training was conducted on the evacuation of children in the event of an attack or threat of an attack on an educational institution," - notes Petro Tykhovich, head of the juvenile prevention department of the Main Police Department in Ternopil region. The participants of the classes practiced the algorithm of actions of teachers, police, rescue and other emergency services, and also checked the readiness of the educational institution for an operational response in case of a threat. “Such classes are very important in conditions of martial law, especially for large cities and schools, because they provide an opportunity to psychologically prepare for various dangerous situations. A clear algorithm of actions is being developed, according to which the actions of the administration, teachers, students and relevant services are determined," notes Olga Zablotska, chief specialist of the Department of Education and Science of the Ternopil City Council. In order to eliminate the danger, police dog handlers examined the routes of children's movement in order to carry out their safe evacuation. "For us, as police officers, it is important to ensure the safety of the educational process. Most educational institutions in the city of Ternopil are served by inspectors of the educational security service," says Ihor Rakochyi, head of the educational security service department of the patrol police department in the Ternopil region. According to the schoolchildren, the training helps them not to get confused and understand how to act correctly in case of danger. Such classes are planned to be held in every educational institution in the region. They allow them to evaluate the work of all emergency services, the actions of participants in the educational process and the effectiveness of the alert system. The training participants summed up, analyzed mistakes and identified areas for improvement.
