Because of ⑴, it's easy to determine a strategy for top-down evaluation, but when evaluating from the bottom up, you're left to decide whether to use ⑴ or not. Using ⑴ will lead you to the correct answer, but it's quite difficult, and you won't be confident in your strategy until you get the answer. So, I don't think it's worth investing your valuable exam time. If you don't use ⑴, it would be easy if you could notice the need for the "relationship between the arithmetic mean and the geometric mean." But I wonder how many people actually noticed that... When using the solution method that uses "integration by parts," ⑴ is actually unnecessary... Personally, I think it would have been easier to solve without ⑴. *) Because the focus is on explaining the flow of the solution, writing the contents of the whiteboard exactly as they are on your answer sheet will not necessarily get you full marks.
