Singer specializes in practical ethics, approaching ethical issues mostly from a preference utilitarian perspective. Dr. Singer supports and is actively involved in several humanitarian organizations worldwide, including Oxfam, an organization that works directly with local grass roots organizations in developing countries, and supervises the way its money is used to prevent corruption and waste. He is also the President of Animals Rights International and Chair in the Board of Directors of The Great Ape Project, and has published over twenty books.
