How to Disassemble a 1979 Ford Bronco Bucket Seat | Restoration - Ep04

Welcome to Episode 4 of the 1979 Ford Bronco restoration project on *Have Bronco Will Travel*. In this episode, I completely disassemble the passenger-side front bucket seat to better understand how Ford originally engineered and assembled it. Every component is removed methodically, including the upholstery, foam cushions, hog rings, clips, fasteners, and seat hardware, while documenting how each piece fits together for a successful restoration. Throughout the teardown, I explain the purpose of the various attachment methods used by Ford and demonstrate how to safely remove them without damaging parts that can be reused during reassembly. With the seat fully disassembled, I outline the restoration plan for the bucket seats. The seat frames will be sandblasted to bare metal, worn springs will be replaced where necessary, and the metal components will receive a durable powder-coated finish before the seats are rebuilt with restored upholstery and cushions. One of the primary goals of this restoration is to preserve as many original Ford components as practical while returning them to reliable, like-new condition.
