The gears on this radio are actually quite easy to reproduce. Sony CRF-320 restoration Pt.3
I want to report to you the progress on this Sony CRF-320 radio receiver, and let me tell you, it's still putting up quite a challenge. Whether it's my own learning curve with this device or the aftermath of previous tinkering, the Shortwave seems to be in a stubborn slumber. But, in the face of this mystery, I decided to take a different path. I delved into something within my grasp: the gears. Thanks to my newfound interest in 3D printing, I ventured to recreate the worn-out plastic gear on the SW dial. Surprisingly, my humble 3D printer delivered, and I found myself navigating Fusion 360 to craft it from scratch—a satisfying feat, to say the least. Why all this diversion? It's an invitation for your input. As I tackle this puzzle, I welcome your suggestions on how to pinpoint this maddening fault. And before we plunge in, a heartfelt Happy New Year to you all.
