I actually picked this up from a diy guy who gave up on it(and another snowblower). He cleaned the carb and it still wouldn't start, so threw in the towel. I assume the previous owner killed it via starting fluid. These machines are way over built by today standards and are nearly 3x as thick steel. They take repowering with new/much larger engines amazing and there is no reason any one of these should ever be tossed out for a "new" machine. Not that it needs repowering as TECUMSEH is the best/easiest starting cold weather engine ever made. This being a points machine scares people but I find points rarely go bad and just need cleaning every decade or so.
