In this video, watch how to remove a Tecumseh engine on an Ariens Snowblower and replace it with a Predator Engine from Harbor Freight. If your engine is giving you too many issues, it may be be more cost efficient to replace the engine. This Tecumseh engine was giving me a variety of issues and a new carburetor at the time was about $60 and up. A new Predator Engine for this model was $100. I also added a Drainzit Oil Drain Tube to make future oil changes for my friend easier. See the link below to get yours. I ended up selling the old Tecumseh engine for $60 dollars to recoup to cost of this new engine. My friend has reported that this engine is working very well for him. Starting up on the first or second pull every time. At this point there is no need to re-bore the carburetor as it is running just fine in our cold temperatures.
