Today on our 2016 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt t-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number is C56208. Here's what our wiring kit's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. You can see where it gets its name. This is a t-connector. This is going to connect in directly between the back of the taillight and the factory wiring. We don't have to cut or splice into that factory wiring at all. It's really nice. We've got the yellow and brown for the driver's side. The green's going to go to our passenger side. That runs signal into our converter box. Now, this box is going to take that signal and it's going to convert it into a usable signal for our trailer. This is ultimately what we're after. We want this 4-pole at the back of the vehicle. It's going to give us our turn signals, breaks, our running lights in the ground through the vehicle. Now, this is a standalone box. This isn't going to take any power from the lighting system. It's just picking up the signal. We've got a 12 volt wire here. We're going to run this up to the positive side of our battery or another good 12 volt power source, and that's going to power our box. We don't have to worry about overloading our system at all. It has its own ground as well, which we'll secure to an already existing ground, or we can use the self-tapping screw. Now, this wire clearly isn't going to be long enough to run from the back of the vehicle to the front, so they've supplied us with nice heavy gauge wire. It's going to carry plenty of currents, we don't have to worry about that. There's going to be a fuse holder, ring terminals, some zip ties, just things that are going to make the install go along a little bit easier. It should be most of what we need. We're going to have a dust cap. That's going to cover the end of our 4-pole, keep corrosion and stuff like that off. Now, we are going to be replacing our butt connectors that are going to be on the outside of the vehicle. I think the one in the rear here is going to be inside, so that one's fine to use. The other one's going to be closer to the battery. We're going to replace this with part number DW05745. It's going to be a heat shrink butt connector that's going to provide us with superior moisture protection so we won't have to worry about any kind of issues with the wire that we run up to the front of the vehicle. What we need to do is get in behind our panels here on each side. That's where our wiring connection's going to be. We'll pull out the storage cover, if you've got it, or storage panel, just a little release handle right here. Set that aside. Now we'll need to take out the small panel. It's going to be underneath here. There'll be a little hook that will hold that up for you. Take out the storage area. Also take out that tire surround. Now, right up here in the front corner we've got Phillips screws. Let's get those taken out. We'll also pull the covers off both the small cargo tie downs here in the back. Now, inside of here we're going to have two little Torx screws. Want to pull those out. You can see they're real small. Those are going to require a T15 Torx bit. Now, we'll pull up on the little scuff panel here. You can just pull on it gently. Starting from each side, you'll pull up the small, little push fasteners that hold it in. We've got one, two, three, and four that hold that in. Now, we pull up on each side of the cargo area there. You'll be able to get it pulled out as well. Now, let's pull out just slightly, going up around the edge here. You might need a screw driver or trim panel removal tool. If it gets too tough, you can reach in there and pry it out. We'll pull it out enough to where we can kind of get our tool in behind and just work up to where those fasteners are and pop them out. The top strip overlaps the bottom strip. We'll keep that in mind when we put it back together here. All right, that gives us a little flexibility there, you have a little flexibility there. If we look right here, there's going to be a little wire that runs right right in there towards the back of our taillight housing. Let's get our taillight out of the way here and we'll look where it comes out on this side. Now, we can grab our T30 Torx bit and we'll pull out both screws holding in the taillight here. Just wiggle that housing out. If we flip it around here, we'l
