Deus Está Falando, Mas Você Está Ouvindo? | Salmos 81–82 — DIA 256

In today's Bible study, in Psalms 81 and 82, we receive a challenging message about obedience, hardness of heart, justice, and spiritual responsibility. Psalm 81 begins with a call to worship: “Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob.” Psalm 81:1 God reminds the people of all He had done: He delivered them, sustained them, answered them in times of distress, and proved His faithfulness. “I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were freed from the baskets.” Psalm 81:6 Even so, the people refused to listen. “But my people would not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me.” Psalm 81:11 The problem was not a lack of direction. God had spoken. The problem was resistance. The people wanted God's blessings, but they did not want to submit to His voice. This remains one of the great contradictions of the Christian life: desiring deliverance, provision, protection, and answers, but resisting when God confronts, corrects, and directs. The Lord declares: “Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!” Psalm 81:13 There is pain in this statement. God shows that there was a path of care, deliverance, and provision, but the people insisted on following their own will. Disobedience is not a lack of information. It is a conscious rejection of God's voice. In Psalm 82, the Lord presents himself in the midst of the powerful and confronts injustice: “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked?” Psalm 82:2 Authority was never given to protect personal interests. God demands that the weak, the orphans, the poor, and the needy be defended. “Defend the rights of the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” Psalm 82:3 Psalm 82 denounces leaders who knew their position but ignored their responsibility. When justice is abandoned, the entire structure is shaken: “They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.” Psalm 82:5 Psalms 81–82 teach us: • God continues to speak to His people • listening requires response and obedience • desiring God's blessings without seeking His guidance is rebellion • hardness of heart prevents man from living what God has prepared • all authority will be judged by God • justice is not optional for those who represent the Kingdom • defending the vulnerable is part of God's will • when leaders abandon justice, the foundations weaken Today's study question is direct: God has already spoken.
