STUNNING 2014 Mitsubishi Traction Elevators & 360 Observatory Tour! - Abeno Harukas in Osaka, Japan

Filmed on June 30th, 2025. Here are the tallest & fastest elevators in Osaka's Tallest Building! These elevators travel from the 16th floor up to the 60th, and were installed by Mitsubishi. Interestingly, the SkyLobby, Hotel & Office Elevators here were all installed by Toshiba, and there is also a Penthouse Elevator here that was installed by Fujitec. Again, I have no idea why buildings in Japan use multiple brands when being constructed, but it definitely made riding the elevators here more interesting. Just like most High Rise Mitsy's this is a really good installation. Unlike others I rode this trip, these elevators only go 1200 FPM which seems slow when compared to other Japan Skyscrapers that are actually shorter than this place, however, given these elevators start on the 16th floor, you're really only traveling 44 floors from the Skylobby to the Observatory, and when factoring that in, the speed is more than adequate and these definitely FEEL faster than 1200 FPM even if they aren't. The best part about the elevators here however is the SUPER COOL Lightshow these play while going up and down and the CUSTOM "Aviation Altitude Meter" floor indicators! Both of which are VERY Unique and make these elevators VERY Futuristic looking despite being over 10 years old now and are something I've never seen before, another treat of many in Japan! In addition to the cool elevators here, the Observatory here was really cool too. I loved the open air garden area a lot, and given the towers' location being somewhat removed from rest of the Central Osaka Business District, you get really good distance views of Osaka's Skyline as well as the surrounding area. Unlike New York where there's tons of people and skyscrapers everywhere in such a compact area, Japanese cities don't have quite as many Skyscrapers throughout but rather multiple clusters of them across a spread out area. As such, when your on the ground, you don't feel like your in such a huge city....that is, until you take the train around and it feels like you've arrived in a different city upon getting off at each stop AND you go up any of the Observatories here. The views were definitely incredible, and I'd definitely recommend a stop here for some excellent views of Osaka from high above. The admission was also relatively affordable too at around $15 USD unlike many U.S./Canada Observation Decks.
