'Chegamos a um compromisso', diz ministro francês sobre fim de visto na fronteira com Brasil

French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, visited Brazil last week. During the visit, the two countries formalized the suspension of visa requirements for Brazilian citizens entering French Guiana. The measure, which benefits trips of up to 30 days, will take effect on July 31. In an exclusive interview with Marcelo Lins, broadcast on #GlobonewsInternacional this Sunday (5), Barrot highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement and the security cooperation along the 700-kilometer border. “We reached a compromise with the suspension of the short-stay visa requirement for Brazilian citizens, in exchange for strengthening our security cooperation, with the deployment of liaison officers to various services in Brazil to combat trafficking, illegal migration, illegal mining, and environmental crimes,” he stated. The Foreign Minister also defended the technological sovereignty of democratic countries in the development of artificial intelligence. “We shouldn’t be forced to use tools designed elsewhere, because whoever creates the tool always wields more influence than whoever merely regulates it.” ➡️ Subscribe to our channel and activate the bell 🔔 to stay updated on everything that's happening: http://glo.bo/4lqescl #GloboNews #international #Brazil #France #FrenchGuiana
