The Bell Boy (1918) - Buster Keaton & Roscoe Arbuckle

The Bell Boy is a 1918 American silent two-reel comedy directed by and starring Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. It was produced by the Comique film company. The short is set in the lobby and elevator of the fictional Elk's Head Hotel. Fatty and Buster Keaton play mischievous bellboys who torment the hotel guests and each other with their pranks and mishaps. The manually operated elevator is powered by a stubborn horse, leading to humorous elevator rides. A supposed mock robbery at the hotel turns into a real robbery, setting off a wild chase through the hotel and onto a runaway trolley car. The Bell Boy features Arbuckle's signature slapstick comedy style as well as Keaton's feats of physical stunt work amidst the chaotic hotel scenes. Filled with silly gags, chase sequences, and comedic mishaps, The Bell Boy exemplifies the fast-paced humor that Arbuckle and Keaton became known for in their numerous silent film shorts. #busterkeaton #roscoearbuckle #silentfilm #oldhollywood #movie #hollywood #1910s #vintage #film
