Emacs Super Fast Frame/Window Switching with FrameMove & WindMove
https://truthseekers.io/lessons/an-in... 0:20 - Windmove with Arrows 1:51 - FrameMove with Arrows 3:55 - Hook FrameMove & WindMove together 6:00 - Move with VIM bindings!! In this video you'll learn how to quickly switch between Windows and Frames using the packages "FrameMove" and "WindMove". The problem with the default Emacs configuration is that switching between frames and windows is slow and inefficient. Switching to a new Emacs Frame by default uses the command C-x 5 0, and switching between windows is C-x o, and when you use C-x o you have to go through a loop. By using Windmove and framemove you can setup intuitive and efficient keybindings to quickly move between windows and frames. Most people setup windmove and framemove to cycle between windows using the arrow keys along with a modifier key like "Shift". This is a significant improvement upon the default because you can switch between emacs windows & frames using the arrow keys. Instead of being limited to forward and backward, you can move UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT, which can dramatically improve your speed. Unfortunately, the arrow keys are too far away. Any good programmer will keep his or her hands on the keyboard as much as possible, and not waste their time reaching for the arrow keys unless necessary. Luckily, there's a simple improvement to allow you to switch between Emacs windows and frames even quicker. By editing your .emacs configuration, you can adjust the windmove and framemove shortcuts to be bound to the keys "H", "J", "K", and "L". If you look closely, you'll notice those keys are right under your fingers when you're typing, so it's much easier and faster to move between frames and windows!
