Rescued a Wrecked 1941 Packard Club Coupe, barn find , custom car beginning. Chop top. Lead sled.

In this episode of Adventures in Rust, we bring home a 1941 Packard Club Coupe that has definitely seen better days — but it was too cool, too interesting, and too good of a deal to leave behind. This Packard had been in a pretty serious accident, and the passenger side took the worst of it. The door is ruined, the door post is damaged, the quarter panel is destroyed, and the frame is bent. Basically, the entire passenger side of the car needs to be rebuilt. It’s not a quick fix, but that’s also what makes it the perfect candidate for a full custom build. The car still has its inline flathead engine, which is partially disassembled but appears to be in decent condition. The interior looks mostly original, the paint appears to have been redone sometime around the 1980s, and it still has a great look with wide whitewall tires. It also looks like the suspension had been gone through shortly before the accident, with newer shocks and newer tires that have just been sitting for a long time. A finished 1941 Packard Club Coupe can easily be a $25,000 car, but because of the damage, we were able to buy this one for a fraction of that. That gives us the opportunity to take a car that might otherwise be considered too far gone and turn it into something really special. The plan? Possibly chop the top, lower it, rebuild the damaged side, and maybe even use the Revolt electric motor we already picked up to turn this Packard into a full custom electric daily driver. Is it a smart idea? Probably not. Is it exactly the kind of bad idea we love around here? Absolutely. Follow along as we figure out what this 1941 Packard Club Coupe is going to become.
