In this 100% organic lesson, recorded directly on the court with two real students and without cuts, I show the step-by-step of the smash in beach tennis the way it really happens in practice. The smash is one of the most important shots in beach tennis and also one of the most difficult, because the sand is a super unstable surface. That's why I divided this smash into three phases — preparation, contact point, and follow-through — and created 7 progressive drills for you to master the movement naturally, one step at a time. You'll see the importance of the non-dominant arm, the continental grip (which is the basis of everything), the famous "trigger finger," and the follow-through phase, which is precisely what protects you from the most common injuries, such as tendinitis and epicondylitis. The continental grip will guide the correct smash technique in each drill, so insist on it from beginning to end. These 7 smash drills are suitable for both beginners (categories D and C) and those who want to improve their shot. And the best part: you can do them alone or with your training partner. Finally, there's a bonus segment where I throw the balls to the students, practicing the front and back smashes, paying close attention to lateral movement. If you truly want to improve your smash in beach tennis, stay with me until the end, because every detail of the continental grip and the non-dominant arm makes a difference. Focus on the continental grip and your smash (and even your serve) will improve significantly!
