Canning Stock Route Wiluna to Billiluna - Day 4

Canning Stock Route: Wells 9-14 - A Solo Journey into History Traveling solo on the Canning Stock Route gives you a unique chance to connect with the landscape and its history on a much deeper level. This stretch, from Wells 9 to 14, is a powerful reminder of the determination it took to forge this legendary track. I'm heading to Weld Springs (Well 9), a place etched in history by explorer John Forrest. It's an important and sobering spot, and I'll be taking some time to reflect on its significance. From there, the terrain changes, taking me deeper into the desert's heart. Each well tells its own story. There’s the lucky Well 10, and Well 13, also known as Pulpurumal, each a vital lifeline for the drovers who moved cattle through this unforgiving country. As I navigate the corrugated tracks and massive sand dunes, I'll be sharing the challenges and the breathtaking beauty of this part of the journey. Join me as I explore the history, incredible resilience, and stunning landscapes of the Canning Stock Route, one well at a time.
