We Crossed the Nullarbor… Nothing Happened, Except Everything

We’re leaving Ceduna and heading west across the Nullarbor Plain — one of Australia’s most iconic drives, and also one of the few places where the GPS says ‘continue straight ahead’ and then takes the rest of the day off. This crossing takes us from South Australia into Western Australia, with big skies, long roads, road trains, old ruins, rest stops, and enough time to start questioning every noise the caravan makes. First stop is Head of Bight, where the coastline suddenly turns dramatic and makes you forget you’ve been staring at scrub for three hours. Then we follow the edge of the country along the amazing Bunda Cliffs — where the Nullarbor simply gives up and drops into the Southern Ocean. From there, we head to Eucla to explore the old telegraph station, walk down to the beach, and check out the remains of the old wharf — because apparently we like history better when it involves sand in our shoes. After that, it’s Caiguna, Norseman, and the official completion of the crossing. People say there’s nothing out here… and they’re right — except for the cliffs, ruins, beaches, sunsets, road trains, and several hundred kilometres of very specific nothing. So, welcome to the Nullarbor crossing… where the road is long, the views are huge, and we’re already pretty sure something in the van has moved to a new cupboard. #thehakkaexperiment #Nullarbor #CaravanAustralia #CedunaToNorseman #AussieRoadTrip #HeadOfBight #BundaCliffs #Eucla #Norseman #GreyNomads #CaravanLifeAustralia
