Reaching the end of the Carretera Austral wasn't going to be easy. In this fifth episode, we set sail from Caleta Tortel, crossing by ferry to Río Bravo to tackle the final 100 kilometers of Route 7 towards Villa O'Higgins. However, when we were just 7 kilometers from reaching the final destination, a brutal storm of rain and wind unleashed its fury on Patagonia. The Mayer River overflowed its banks, completely flooding the road and cutting off our passage, leaving the expedition hanging in the balance. An extreme overlanding journey, untamed landscapes between the Northern and Southern Patagonian Ice Fields, and the harsh reality of traveling one of the most isolated and unpredictable routes on the planet.
