THE MATRIX (1999) with Original DTS Theatrical Audio from Cinema CDs
Following the two videos I made recently titled 'Why don't Movies sound like they used to' I had two people independently send me the same video of The Matrix in HD where a 35mm general release print had been scanned and married to the Digital Theatre System soundtrack supplied on the pair of CDs distributed with the film prints - that sound having been ripped from those cinema DTS CDs. The scan of the print had been graded to match what the creators felt was closest to what had been seen in cinemas in 1999. How much difference does all this make to the enjoyment of The Matrix? Star Trek VI is also trailered in this video as I plan to do a similar video about this film next. I now have the 35mm print Keith Wilton and I went 50/50 on in the 1990's so I'll be watching that again and, more importantly, listening to it to see if I can get close to what I heard from a 70mm blow-up at The Empire, Leicester Square in 1992. The British Film Collectors Convention is being held at the Barn Theatre in Oxted, just south of Croydon (and intentionally outside of all the London road taxing measures) on Saturday, 30th May 2026. All the details can be seen on www.bfcc.biz/next.html which also has the link to purchase advance tickets. Direct link for tickets is here: https://www.ticketsource.com/barn-the... Downloading the 35mm transfer of The Matrix with original theatrical DTS audio: Paul Harmsen tracked down a copy and sent me the information required as follows. This is the link to the download page for The Matrix 35mm scan with the original theatrical DTS audio mix : https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic... It's a .torrent file, therefore it requires the user to have a torrent client application installed. One of the more commonly used torrent applications is BitTorrent. No account or subscription is needed for this BitTorrent. Once the torrent application is installed, you can click on the link "Download .torrent" or "Download via magnet link" on the download page. It then downloads the .torrent file and when you open that in the torrent application you can download the film file.
