Tribute to Meganeura
Meganeura is an extinct genus of giant insects that lived about 300 million years ago during the Late Carboniferous period. It resembled a giant dragonfly with a wingspan reaching up to 70 centimeters. Meganeura had large, veined wings and sharp spines on its legs, which it used to catch prey. It was a carnivore, feeding on other insects, small amphibians, and reptiles. Fossils have been found mainly in Europe and North America.
