[Architect] House in Ohasu: A house with an exotic atmosphere, featuring arches and two gardens. The site is located in a temple-centered area, a short distance from the center of Higashiosaka City, Osaka Prefecture, in an area where many old private and commercial houses remain. The site in question is a site containing buried cultural assets, densely populated with Japanese row houses. The client's initial requirements were clear: they wanted a home with an exotic atmosphere, reminiscent of the Peranakan architectural landscape of Singapore, and they had a clear vision for the floor plan and facade. Therefore, at the outset of the design, we incorporated Peranakan architectural elements and approached the project based on the client's vision. However, we began to feel that the design was no longer in line with the client's true vision. Then, the concept was conceived: to incorporate the image of Peranakan pilotis into a Japanese row house. Peranakan architecture, like Japanese row houses, is characterized by buildings nestled close to each other, while the porch spaces at the front of the buildings and the arches on the side walls connect the adjacent buildings, creating a unified arcade landscape. ...
