THE MOST DANGEROUS AND BEAUTIFUL ROAD IN CHILE! We are in the city of Los Antiguos, on the border between Argentina and Chile. In this video, we will be crossing the border to enter Chile. We will show you how we crossed from Argentina and all the necessary documents to enter Chile by car. Upon arriving at Chilean customs, we underwent a thorough police search. They opened all the lockers and inspected everything in our motorhome, as fruits, vegetables, meat, or dairy products are not allowed into Chile. It was our worst border inspection yet. After being authorized to enter Chile, we continued to the city of Chile Chico, where we spent the night on the shores of Lake General Gran Carrera, a beautiful freshwater lake. The lake is of glacial origin and is surrounded by the Andes Mountains. It drains into the Pacific Ocean to the west via the Baker River. During the last glaciation, the lake drained into the Atlantic via the Deseado River. We wait for the strong Patagonian winds to subside before continuing our journey towards Chile's Carretera Austral, the famous Route 7. We'll travel 100 km until we reach Villa de Puerto Guadal, which is close to the Carretera Austral. Follow this great adventure we'll have in the next episodes along the Carretera Austral. The Carretera Austral (Chile's Route 7) is an iconic scenic route of approximately 1,240 km that crosses Chilean Patagonia, connecting Puerto Montt to Villa O'Higgins. It is known for its stunning and untouched landscapes, such as mountains, forests, lakes, fjords, and glaciers. Built during the 1980s, the road offers an experience of adventure and connection with wilderness, although it has sections that are still unpaved and requires the use of ferries to cross some rivers and fjords.
