The three-back has given Barcelona more of a platform to be able to play out from the back, particularly through opposition pressure. It means that more people are in deeper positions to show for and receive the ball. This all plays a part in their emphasis on playing through the thirds and working the ball up the field. The formation allows Barca to keep the three attackers on the pitch. These are the key highlight of the team.
