MEGALEITE REGISTRA NOVO RECORDE MUNDIAL DA RAÇA GIROLANDO; ANUÁRIO DESTACA AVANÇOS DO SETOR

The 21st edition of Megaleite, held in Belo Horizonte (MG), registered a new world record for milk production in the Girolando breed. At the same time, Embrapa Gado de Leite released the 2026 Milk Yearbook, a publication that brings together indicators, analyses and studies on the Brazilian dairy chain. The cow Jornada Montross FIV LPN, from exhibitor Rodrigo Nogueira Ferreira, won the titles of Grand Champion of Absolute Milk Production and Grand Champion of Milk Composition during the Megaleite dairy tournament. The animal produced 337.950 kilograms of milk, with an average of 112.650 kilograms per milking, establishing a new world record for the Girolando breed. Regarding the sector, Embrapa Gado de Leite has also made available for free download the 2026 Dairy Yearbook, a publication that presents statistics, analyses, and articles on the performance of the dairy chain in Brazil and abroad. The edition includes a special insert commemorating the 50th anniversary of Embrapa Gado de Leite, bringing together research, indicators, and reports on the evolution of dairy farming over the last five decades.
