Scratch Built Engine Room Diorama with Working Warp Core
Check out this video as I scratch build a 1:72 scale engine room diorama from the USS Pathfinder—the ship that started it all. This miniature engineering bay brings the heart of the vessel to life, complete with a pulsating blue warp core and a working computer display, not to mention a fully detailed industrial interior designed to feel functional and believable. From rough sketches to finished model, this project combines traditional scratch building, 3D printing, lighting effects, and microcontroller programming to create a dynamic sci fi scene. The warp core features addressable LEDs with directional energy flow, while a custom programmed display simulates real-time engineering readouts—bringing an extra layer of realism to the space. The goal with this diorama is to show what the inside of one of CQH Aerospace’s working starships might actually look like. You’ll also get a glimpse into the world building behind CQH Aerospace and the legacy of the Pathfinder—human touches, engineering challenges, and even a few stories from the crew that keep things interesting. If you enjoy scratch-built sci-fi models, practical effects, and detailed miniature environments, this one has a little bit of each of those for you to enjoy! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- What’s in this build: Fully scratch-built 1:72 engine room interior Custom 3D printed warp core, ion engine, and structural elements Animated LED lighting with Arduino Nano control Working micro display powered by an ESP32 Hand-painted crew figures and detailed industrial environment Integrated wiring and hidden electronics inside the base Original Sci-Fi story and world building ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 👉 Explore the full Pathfinder Journey playlist here: • The Pathfinders Exploration Journey ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in how you can support the Cosmic Quest Hobbies channel, here's a link to my Patreon! / cosmicquesthobbies Or you can buy me a coffee at - Buy me a Coffee https://buymeacoffee.com/cosmicquesth... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of the Items I used in this build - 1-2-3 Blocks https://amzn.to/4sPIKy0 Weld On 3 Adhesive https://amzn.to/4u2b6WA My favorite water washable 3d printing resin https://amzn.to/4e3ZoWN Good airbrush - Paasche Talon https://amzn.to/3OJwzVc Bulk Xacto blades https://amzn.to/4cZTHrW Sanding Sticks https://amzn.to/4dYXsik *These are Amazon Affiliate links.
