Il dinosauro che non si è mai estinto: Mokele-Mbembe | Criptozoo - La Scienza sul Divano

The Mokele-Mbembe is a legendary creature from the Congo Basin that, according to some accounts, is a sauropod dinosaur that survived extinction. For years, expeditions to Africa have been organized in search of this supposed dinosaur, which has survived to the present day virtually unchanged. Today, its existence is considered a legend, but it's interesting to understand why so many people truly believed in the possibility of a living dinosaur. To do so, we must go back in time: from the strange sightings of a "sea serpent" in Gloucester, on the coast of Massachusetts, to the work of Mary Anning and the discovery of the first plesiosaurs. We'll arrive at the film King Kong, the first depictions of sauropod dinosaurs like Diplodocus and Brontosaurus, and the discovery of the coelacanth, a true "Lazarus species" that rekindled hope of finding animals thought extinct. I mainly cover environmental and everyday chemistry. I study and combat chemophobia, the irrational fear of (synthetic) chemicals. With the program "Science on the Couch," I interview scientists and science communicators in a disgustingly informal manner. I hold conferences and meetings in schools (poor students!). Since 2019, I have collaborated on the creation of Superquark+ for RaiPlay, and since 2023, I have been a science communicator for Noos on Rai1. I wrote "C'è chimica in casa" (Mondadori, 2022) and, with Simone Angioni and Stefano Bertacchi, "Quello che sai sulla plastica è sbagliato" (Gribaudo, 2023). What do I use to make the videos?
