The scheme, which was introduced for secondary school students last year, will now continue to benefit lakhs of students across the state. According to the government, nearly 5.7 million (57 lakh) students are expected to benefit from the extension. The state government has approved an estimated expenditure of ₹4,224 crore for the implementation of the scheme during the extended period.
