An Interview with Prof. Henry Giroux | Oxford Political Review

Henry Giroux is perhaps the foremost educational thinker of our time - in his prolific work he investigates the influence of neoliberalism and its culture on our educational systems and the concept of education itself. He also examines the influences of different educational paradigms on people and their ability to mount effective movements of emancipation and resistance, in the tradition of Critical Theory and especially the Critical Pedagogy of Paulo Freire. Deputy Editor of Interviews Mats Licht spoke to Prof. Giroux about the influence of the Pandemic on education, the role of the so-called "Culture Wars" on educational policy, and the possible ways in which young people in particular can resist the current assault on education in general and the university in particular. Recorded on the 14th of June 2021. Music: Local Forecast - Slower by Kevin MacLeod
