My camping attempt at McGillivray Tower

Note: I have ridden this route when dry. I have been told (see comments) that some of the area west of Gilnockie Creek Rec Site is mainly a clay base and can be slippery when wet. The orange track, called Try 1 is probably the best way to attempt this. At that same end screen you can see a trail in red that is an easier access up towards the tower. As to thoughts on this from Calgary. Given I was going to camp overnight anyway, there are several options. If you come in the way I did you could camp at: Baynes Lake, Gilnockie Creek, about 300 m up the switchback trail, or Kenelley Camp. That way the following day you could do the route to the Tower, and then continue to Yahk and come back along the border route/switchbacks to your camp. You could leave your tent and cooking supplies behind and do the circular route much lighter. You could even come around fast enough to pack up and carry on out.
