Ebike Motors are not waterproof here is how to waterproof them!

do not use enduro max bearings they don't last as long. they are still working in my motor but I've been advised they a not suitable for motors. I'll post an update but so far I have no issues with them personally This is not a how To video its a how I did it. Follow this video at your own risk! obviously this will invalidate any warranty so wait till your warranty has run out before thinking about this. my best advice is to contact performance line bearings and get a full motor service there. if you are servicing motor yourself they supply parts tools and correct lubes. more info on the work done. if you look at video at time 5.33 you see me point to the bearing what you can also see is the staining to the case that tracks the water ingress. the main way water gets in is through the bearings I actually coated the board with 3 heavy coats of conformal and not one shown in the video I blocked the old vent with silicone and routed the new vent to a dry area up inside the frame the vent was made from modelling tube 3.5mm . drilled a hole same size and locked it in with lock tight I used silicon tube but this kinks easy so a different tube that doesn't kink would be better. it's extremely important it's not blocked. I had good success on two motors.
