Dead Or Alive - I Wanna Be A Toy (KD Remix 2025)

This is a fan-made remix of the classic album track from "Youthquake". Pete Burns was one of my heroes from the 1980s. He was larger than life and always made things interesting whether he was recording music or being interviewed on TV. Where would we be without Pete Burns? Difficult one to answer I know, but he leaves a rich legacy of witty retorts, classic dance tunes and incredible fashion choices. I remember him being interviewed and he was a little dismissive of his earlier music which was guitar based and Doorsesque in sound. He was very clear - He wanted to make music that was influenced by Sylvester - Sylvester was one of the pioneers of High NRG music, which I am sure many listeners know. Well, that is what Pete Burns certainly started doing with Sophisticated Boom Boom, Youthquake and then Mad, Bad and Dangerous To Know. Perhaps there was too much influence from Stock Aitken and Waterman at times, but I can listen beyond that when I hear Youthquake and Mad, Bad And Dangerous To Know - That's because you have Pete Burns roaring across the various dance anthems DOA released during the mid 1980s and his voice created that uniqueness.
