Skinny Puppy - Assimilate (KD Remix 2026)

This is a fan-made and unofficial reworking of the classic song by Canada's finest called "Assimilate" that features on Skinny Puppy's album called "Bites". https://www.discogs.com/master/17225-... I'll be honest, I don't like everything that Skinny Puppy have done. I have listened to quite a lot of their stuff, but for some reason it just does not seem to resonate with me. In theory it should be right up my street, but weirdly it does not click. However, "Assimilate" is another story all together. This song is incredible and I have enjoyed listening to it since hearing it in various goth and alternative clubs since the late 1980s onwards. It is an absolute classic. So, why bother doing a reworking of it. Well, for those of you that don't know, the premise behind this channel was to celebrate the past, but also to understand how the great songs from the past were put together. I enjoyed working on this song and particularly liked Skinny Puppy's use of triplets which gives this song a bouncy and energetic feeling. An absolute classic.
