Fear of sharks whilst freediving | Great White Sharks at Neptune Islands | Oceanchan

Welcome back to the 10th episode of Oceanchan! This week, I will answer a submitted question, "Aren't you afraid of sharks whilst freediving?" Sharks are incredible animals that have an important place in the marine ecosystem. There is always the risk of a dangerous encounter with a shark whenever we enter the ocean as it is their territory. However these fears are often exaggerated. Sharks often want to avoid us and mind their own business. Sharks do not target humans as we are not their natural prey. In this video, I will discuss ways we can minimise the risk of a shark mistaking us for prey and also show how these animals are often calm when not hunting and in their natural environment. I have freedived with smaller sharks but I have not ever, and do not ever want to freedive with great white sharks! [ANNOUNCEMENT: A big thank you to all my viewers - it's been officially two months since the start of this channel and we've reached 10 episodes, 2000+ views and over 100 subscribers!
