In 1881, the city was booming with the arrival of the railway which linked Bagnoles de l'Orne to Paris. Bagnoles de l'Orne 🇫🇷 was then a resort where people came to stay while tasting the benefits of spring waters, breathing the forest air, attending the various sporting and cultural activities offered at the large casino or at the tennis. All this made the prestige of the city. Albert Christophle, a native of the country who became Minister of Public Works, proposes to create a new district.
