V1 VR V2 - [Take off speeds explained and Boeing 737 Simulator practical example]

In today’s video, we are going to talk about the V1, Vr, and V2 speeds. These are the most important take-off speed, so let’s get started. The V1 also called Take-off decision speed, is the latest point, during your take-off roll, at which you can start the rejected take-off maneuver in order to stop the aircraft within the runway length. The acronym ‘’decision speed’’ could be a bit misleading because the decision to Stop or continue your take-off must be taken slightly before the V1 speed in order to start the rejected take-off at the V1 speed. The Vr also called rotation speed, is the speed at which you start to apply back pressure on the control in order to lift the nose of the aircraft off the ground. At Vr, the wings produce enough lift to get airborne. The V2 also called take-off safety speed is the speed that provides you with the best rate of climb in case you have an engine failure at or after V1. This speed must be achieved by the end of the runway at a screen height of 35 ft. There are multiple factors that affect these speeds such as, Aircraft weight, runway contamination, pressure, temperature, runway slope, and so on. Before the pilots were calculating these take-off speeds manually taking into consideration all these factors, now, however, there is software that makes your life easier by calculating the V1, Vr, and V2 for you.
