Concert Footage of Lenny Breau & Brad Terry at Maine Jazz Festival 1980 plus Brad Terry Interview
In 1976, Brad Terry met Lenny Breau on a gig arranged by a mutual friend and both men recognized that they shared a special musical bond. During the next six years Brad and Lenny played together many times in Maine. Brad recorded several of their duets and Lenny's solo performances on a high-quality reel to reel tape recorder. A few years after Lenny's death, he released these tracks as the Living Room Tapes: Volumes One and Two, so-named because many tracks had been recorded in the living room of Brad's mother's home. In 1980, Lenny and Brad performed at the Maine Jazz Festival. An unknown videographer filmed the duo playing two tunes characterized by the pair's usual high level of musical spontaneity, interplay and creative improvisation. A portion of this video was presented in a documentary the Maine Public Broadcasting Network put together about Brad and the performance segment is presented here, preceded by an interview with Brad from 2000.
