After acting friendly, they kill Caulder's husband, rape her, burn down the family home, and leave her for dead in the burning house. The brothers then continue their crimes, while Caulder recruits bounty hunter Thomas Price to help her exact revenge by training her to become a gunslinger. Review: Hannie Caulder Hannie Caulder is one of the first films to focus on a woman who wants revenge and gets it. Besides the solid production and acting, the real stars are the villains, the Clemens brothers, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam, and Strother Martin, who have some great scenes of pure slapstick comedy that are simply hilarious. Raquel Welch is obviously sexy, and the gunfights don't disappoint. It's not a masterpiece, but it's solid and entertaining. Recommended if you like films like True Grit, One Hundred Thousand Dollars, and Cat Ballou.
