The demand for eye care continues to grow in Peru, posing significant challenges to the healthcare system. How is the National Institute of Ophthalmology responding to this reality? What projects are underway to improve patient access to specialized care? We spoke with Dr. Félix Antonio Torres Cotrina, Director General of the National Institute of Ophthalmology (INO), about the actions the institution is taking to reduce waiting times, strengthen care in regional areas through telemedicine, and incorporate new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
