Shaped, Not Broken

This practice is for anyone whose sense of self has been unsettled by changes in health, body, or ability. Drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy’s concept of “self-as-context,” it invites you to notice the part of you that has been quietly present and aware beneath every role, label, and story you carry about who you are, even as life has reshaped you in ways you didn’t choose or anticipate. Using the image of a mountain worn and carved by wind, water, and growth over time, yet still rooted to the earth beneath it, this meditation offers a way to hold two things at once: you have been changed, and you are still here.
